Hey guys, I know that I have been inactive here for quite a while.
This has been because my secular work had kindof taken over my life.
I have been working as the Assistant Engineer at Coastal Television in Anchorage, Alaska.
This is composed of 8 stations affiliated with Fox, ABC and The CW
This job has been quite the time eater since I am on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"TV Never Sleeps"
I have been helping to upgrade the old 480i standard definition system, which has been in use for broadcasting television to most of the state of Alaska for about 15 years, to a new High Definition 720p transmittion. We run 8 television stations in Alaska out of one location and use relay transmitters to broadcast to the rest of the state. KYUR, KJUD, KWBX, KTBY, KWFA, KWJA, KATN, and NIMO. We have Alaska's first 2 TRUE 720P HD shows, which are produced and broadcast live from our studio to both FOX and ABC, not at the same time but one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Installing the equipment and setting up the shows has been a great experience for myself and thost that I've worked with in the process. And there are more improvements to come to the TV station. One thing though that I have noticed is that I've been working so much that I haven't even turned on my TV at home for about a month and a half. Not even to watch our new shows that started to air on ABC and FOX. I've been able to see some of the shows before they even air on TV.
But enough about TV and Work.
What has everyone else been up to while I've been absent?
